Decor Chick's Real Homes, Real Messes, Real Life, Linky Party

I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am to see I am not alone in having a messy and chaotic life. As much as I try to change this on a daily basis, it just never seems to work for me. Some days I'm okay with that, and then others...well, let's just say that everyone in my house should run and hide (unless they are bringing me chocolate.)

I have a to-do list that I make every morning, and for the most part, it is the same stuff:

- clean kitchen
- vacuum house (every day due to shedding dog)
- laundry (at least one load a day because I could so easily do two-to-three loads daily)
- work out
- make beds
- pick up mess in all of the rooms

...then when I get those items scratched off the list, I attempt to get to "new" things that need to be done. Like organizing one area in my home, painting a new piece of furniture for my booth, writing a new post for my blog, etc. I try to do these things before everyone gets home because our evenings are busy, as I'm sure you can all relate to, with dinner, homework, whining about chores, and all the after-school activities. Somehow, I can never get it all done and the things that I did get done...well, I just have to re-do them all the next day (which sadly, is why I don't get anything "new" done.)

Anyway, I saw this linky party on Decor Chick's blog about showcasing our Real Homes, Real Messes, and Real Life and wanted to jump for joy because not only is this something that I can take lots of pictures of in a matter of minutes (sadly without any staging to be done first), but there are others out there that are in the same position as me too (so my to be embarrassed scale has gone down from a 10-being can't show my face ever again to a 6-I'm not alone in this, but please don't come to my house unexpectedly!)

Keep in mind as you scroll through these pictures, that my house isn't this messy everyday---it is almost always mussed up a bit, but the holidays and few parties right after, on top of everything else thrown in, had made it a little more crazy than normal.

Crazy Mess #1

My girl's room...
yes, I still have Christmas decorations up in there and
it isn't because I'm too lazy to put them away...
we just really like the way it looks
really...
I mean really, really!
This is how it looks five minutes after they get home from school and I have spent a few hours at least cleaning it and organizing.

Crazy Mess #2

 My family room downstairs....
I would say that there are just no words to describe this,
but the fact is that there are just too many...
and yes, that is a live Christmas tree that we still have up close to the end of January.
Yes, I'm very afraid to take the ornaments off because I think that is what is holding the tree together :(

I am still in the process of sorting through our Christmas stuff and getting them re-organized into new bins.
Crazy Mess #3

I pinky promise that this room was clean the night before
but, we watched movies, played monopoly, and the kids slept on the couches. It only took a whopping ten minutes to get this room to look the way it does in this picture.
Finally, not a mess, but something that drives me crazy...
 Where's the toilet paper????

Oh yeah, there it is
on the sink
where I'm sure everyone
places their
TP!

So, there you have it...my chaos that I'm calling home right now. My goal is to work on it this weekend (after the basketball game, school photo's, two birthday parties, and the three pieces that I'm working on for my booth are out of the way.)
Wish me luck...as you can see, I desperately need it! I hope you enjoy your weekend...maybe we'll get some snow :)

We have the Target brand of "American Girl" dolls and they're on the floor in there too. ;) Thanks for keeping it real! I can relate!! Thanks for linking up to my party. Hope you'll stop by Serenity Now again soon! :)
