We have a lot of changes going on in our family right now, some wonderful and some sad...the urge to make and keep memories are really strong right now, so I hope you can bear with me while I display more of my family than I do my projects right now (I do have a few of those that I'm working on too).
Okay, here goes...
Christmas Morning
We make the kids wait upstairs while we make our coffee, turn on all the lights and music, light the fire and get into position with our cameras! Oh, and we make them all sleep in the same room so the oldest can keep the little ones from sneaking a peek while mom and dad are still sleeping!!
This is what they saw...
The little glove ornament hanging on the tree above is one of the ornaments I made for each of my family. This one is Cali's! Every Christmas Eve we open our new Christmas pj's and an ornament!
Nyla's Christmas Day
Santa brought her the Itty Bitty Twins from American Girl and their bed! Now she can play with her big sister!!
McKennah's Christmas Day
Santa brought her Monster High Dolls...her new obsession is everything Monster High!
Toby's Christmas Day
Santa brought him Kinect for the XBOX 360 that broke the next day (apparently there is such a thing as the circle of death?)
Ed's Christmas Day
Santa brought him his first Grand Baby!
Brittany and Jake's First Christmas as a Married Family
Cali's First Christmas
Santa brought her a sink and stove, even though she is too little for it, he just thought it was so darn stinkin' cute!!
Christmas at my Parent's House
We spend Christmas evening at my mom and dad's house in Annapolis...all of my brother's and sister's were there with their families too! My mom makes a big Ham dinner with all the yummy sides and we exchange gifts with each other. We always have a quiet ride home because the kids are crashed out in the back, full and happy, and we listen to Christmas music and look at all the beautiful lights along the way!
We spend Christmas Eve with my in-laws every Christmas. They have Holy Supper which is a Polish tradition on my husband's Dad's side of the family. It is a called a fasting meal, but we have several kinds of fish, cole slaw, rolls with butter, corn, and carrots. Ed's dad says grace and we listen to a very old Christmas Choir Record that is in Polish too. Then my mother in law reads from the bible with all the kids around her (my favorite part), and then we exchange gifts!
We then go home, put on a fire, we open our pj's and ornaments, Ed reads the Grinch to the kids, they take turns every year putting the angel on the tree (this year was McKennah's turn), they search for baby Jesus to put in the manger, place the milk and cookies on the table for Santa, and then they pretend they are going to bed, but they are really giggling and talking (mom and dad can hear them while we are up watching hours of A Christmas Story while getting ready for Christmas morning!) Whew! Are you still with me? Speaking of a Christmas Story, it is one of my favorite movies, and because my husband knows this, he made me this one year...
He used Popsicle sticks and made me the Fragile Box with the lamp leg ornament inside of it! How cool is that? To make it even more like the movie...yeah, my lamp leg has broken...twice!
I love it!
So,
that was our 2010 Christmas!
Thanks for hanging out with me!
