A Poetic Chair

Good Morning! I just finished up another project and wanted to show you before I run out and join the rest of the people who are frantically trying to finish up their Christmas to-do lists!

I had a chair left over from a table and chair set that I bought from the thrift store. I painted the set black and distressed it, then sold it a few weeks later.

The one remaining chair needed to have some work done to it (time to whip out the Gorilla Glue) and this is what I came up with after the repairs...

It was already scuffed up, so I just dry-brushed white paint on it, took one of my favorite sayings and hand painted that on (yes, I still have 2nd grade handwriting unfortunately), and then glazed it with a mixture of BM glaze and Burnt Umber acrylic paint.

Now I'm off to join the merry madness...wish me luck :)

  4. Oh how cute! I love that you were able to freehand it. I attempted (and posted about) that last week with less than desirable results.
