Numbered Chairs

Happy Saturday everyone! It was a beautiful day and I spent a lot of it outside---loved it! I could have been doing some fall maintenance yard work, but heck no, I just walked around my yard admiring all the pretty fall colors and basking in the doing nothing-ness of it all (not even tying my shoes...which is the reason I almost fell into my rose bushes...but...I didn't...so I'm still basking all happy like.) I'm doing a small posting today because I'm busy doing nothing   busy working on some furniture for my booth (I did actually start sanding a desk, so that counts...yes?) I sold some pieces today and I now have a very bare space!! So, I'm posting about some chairs that I bought from the thrift store (I don't have any before pictures) that I refinished in a slate gray color with some distressing and.....NUMBERS! I love numbers! I love them on everything!! I don't have very good pictures of the chairs because I didn't know when I took them that I would one day have a blog to post them on.

I for some reason only have a picture of the number 2 chair and not the number 3 chair! I will be better about that in the future! Anyway, I used Kilz Light Slate color paint, distressed it with steel wool, glazed with a chestnut brown, and then the numbers were painted on with a stencil and burnt umber paint. I then went back over it with the steel wool to distress the numbers as well. If I had to do it all over again, I would make the numbers a little bit bigger, but I still like the way they turned out!!
