FINALLY!!! A day that feels normal! I have two children back in school, one who is almost there, and I feel more like myself than I have in over a week! Thank you for all the "Get Wells and Hope you feel better soon(s)!" It has been a crazy and non-productive week, but on the positive side...we got Lot's of snuggling time in :)
So, for the week and a half that my family and I have been under the weather, I feel like I've missed fall and have shot straight to Christmas!! I went to the store last night---for my sanity, and because I received a letter stating that I need to decorate my booth for Christmas! Oops! I still have Halloween decorations up there and at my house...mainly because I haven't been able to take it down yet with all the snuggling that had to be done, mixed in with just a wee bit of procrastination! Gone were most of the Fall decorations and in were all the Christmas decorations! I went to my dollar store and got some stuff to make some Christmas decorations for my booth (not sure what they will be yet), but here is a picture of some of the stuff I got!
If you open the things you see lying there on your left, they turn into the tree you see there on your right. Not too bad for a dollar! I'm going to the craft store to get some ribbon and see if they have any cute little doo-dads to add to it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the rest, and I still have a few more materials left to buy before I put on the Christmas music and create a huge mess on my kitchen table (that will be there until the day before Thanksgiving when I will have to do a marathon cleaning for guests.)
Yesterday, I finished painting a cute little bench that I had. There really wasn't anything cosmetic to fix, I just thought the finish was a little dated. I used the same Kilz (not) "Bay Fog" as I did on the nightstand in the previous post, and just used a dry-brush technique on it. I really like the way it turned out. We used this in the past to put our mittens in...I am deciding whether to paint on the words mittens...or leave it as is. What do you think?
This is the before...I almost forgot to take a picture of it.
And this is the after.
Should I add the word "mittens?" It's good to be back, I hope everyone else is healthy and enjoying these beautiful fall days!!
